YOUR KINGDOM COME

Some days, the news is difficult to hear. Another war, another family driven from home, another neighborhood shattered by violence. We think of the children, the parents, and the people whose ordinary lives have suddenly changed. We wish we could do more, and we wonder when peace will come.

In those moments, the promise that Jesus will return offers a place for our hearts to rest. The world we see today is not the end. God’s story is unfolding. The One who welcomed children, comforted grieving friends, and reached toward hurting people has promised to come again. His promise gives us hope for tomorrow and courage for the day ahead.

We can face the future knowing it belongs to the Savior who walks beside us through the concerns of today. Our families matter to Him. So do our neighbors, our heartaches, and the worries we seldom mention.

Jesus taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come, your will be done.” Those words express both our longing for a peaceful world and our confidence that His goodness will prevail. We may not know when He will return, but we know the Savior that we are waiting to welcome.

There is time for happiness while we wait: a conversation with a friend, laughter around a table, the beauty of a morning walk. Receiving these gifts can refresh our spirits and help us face difficult news with steadier hearts. And when we share what we have, even a listening ear or a small kindness, we help someone experience His love today.

We cannot carry every sorrow or settle every conflict, but we can offer care, remember others in prayer, and trust the future to Jesus. His promised return assures us that suffering will not have the final word.

Today, we are loved. Tomorrow is in His hands. We can face tomorrow with hope.
