TRUST WHILE YOU WAIT
Everything seems to have its own time. A traffic light will not turn green because we are impatient. A poached egg cannot be hurried without spoiling it. We cannot rush the sunrise or persuade the sun to remain another hour before setting. The grass may turn brown while we wait for rain, yet we cannot command one drop to fall from heaven. Life continually reminds us that we are not in control of time.
Perhaps nowhere is this more difficult than in prayer. We can pray sincerely, fervently, and faithfully, but we cannot hurry heaven. We want an answer today; God may know that tomorrow, next month, or even next year is better. His silence does not mean He is absent, and His delay does not mean He has forgotten.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 declares, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” There is a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot. Our difficulty is that we see life near-sightedly; God sees eternally. We see this moment; God sees where this moment is leading. We see the closed door; He sees what is being prepared beyond it.
What can we learn? Do not spend today fighting God’s timetable. Pray, but also trust. Work, but be willing to wait. Hope, but allow God to determine when and how the answer comes. Perhaps the greater faith is not believing God will give us what we want immediately, but trusting Him when He does not.
Let God be God. The sunrise will come without our help. The rain will fall in its season. And what God has planned for your life will arrive in His own time. Until then, live faithfully, love generously, and trust patiently. God is never hurried, but neither is He ever late.
